Help with a derailleur hanger?
I am installing a new derailleur on my bike and i want to put the old one on another bike. the problem is that the old bike has a different hanger so i would like to put the just removed derailleur on that hanger and both hangers are attached to the derailleurs using rivets not screws.so how do i Switch the hangers. old derailleur is a shimano tourney TX-51?
I can’t just move the derailleur the other bike does not have the same frame mount for the hangers…. the hanger will have to be switched. and its a rivit smooth on both sides
There are two different types of derailleurs, one with the hanger built in and the other is a direct mount that uses a separate hanger. You need a derailleur that has the mount already on it.
